Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season presents a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator stated recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans make a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on October 29.
